Description
Catanauan is a municipality located in the province of Quezon, in the Philippines. It is situated in the southern part of the province, on the eastern coast of Luzon island, and is bordered by the towns of Mulanay, San Francisco, and Plaridel. It has a population of around 50,000 people.
Catanauan is known for its beautiful beaches, such as the Catanauan Cove, which is a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The cove is also home to a marine sanctuary, where you can find a variety of marine life, including corals, fish and other sea creatures.
The town is also known for its rich history, and you can find several historical sites in the area, such as the Catanauan Church, which is a Spanish-era stone church that dates back to the 1800s. The town is also home to several festivals throughout the year, such as the "Sari-Sari Festival" that is celebrated in honor of the town's patron saint, St. John the Baptist.
Additionally, Catanauan is an agricultural town and is known for its production of coconuts, rice and other crops. Fishing is also a major industry in the area, with many of the town's residents relying on fishing as their primary source of income.
