Pundaquit is a small barangay (village) located in the municipality of San Antonio in the province of Zambales, Philippines. It is situated on the western coast of the province, and is known for its beautiful beaches and clear waters, making it a popular destination for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. Pundaquit is also the jump-off point for boat trips to the nearby Camara Island and Capones Island, which are popular tourist spots.
Camara Island is a small island located off the coast of Pundaquit, known for its crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches. It is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling, as the island is surrounded by a coral reef that is home to a variety of marine life.
Capones Island is also a small island located off the coast of Pundaquit, known for its beautiful beaches, stunning rock formations and its lighthouse. The island was a former site of a military defense fortification during the Spanish colonial period and a lighthouse was built during the American colonization. Today the lighthouse is a popular spot for tourists to visit and take in the views of the island and the surrounding area.
Both islands are only accessible by boat, and the trip from Pundaquit usually takes around 20-30 minutes. Visitors can hire a boat and tour guides at Pundaquit to take them to the islands.
